Charity Fundraiser with the Welsh Sinfonia
On June 29th Claire performed in a charity fundraiser concert in The Gate Theatre, Cardiff with The Welsh Sinfonia in aid of The British Red Cross Myanmar Cyclone and China Earthquake Appeals. Claire is always delighted to be involved with the Welsh Sinfonia, and also in supporting the work of The Red Cross- “It is always an honor to support fundraising events and I do hope our joint effort will raise a great deal of money for this very worthwhile cause”. Conducted by Mark Eager, the programme included harp concertos by Handel, Debussy and a live performance of one of her tracks from ‘Touching Gold’ - Ravel’s Pavanne.
The Welsh Sinfonia is formed from a core of freelance professional musicians and guests from the BBC Now Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera. As well as maintaining a busy concert programme, the orchestra have also recorded for film, and enjoy collaborations with many of Wales’ leading choirs.
