Mozart Concerto with William Bennett MBE & The English Chamber Orchestra
On July 30th Claire featured as a soloist in a concert given by the English Chamber Orchestra in Salle Church, Norfolk as part of the ‘Music in Country Churches’ concert series. Now in its 20th year, the series is enthusiastically supported by its Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales. His Royal Highness and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall were both present at the performance.
The occasion marked the first collaboration between Claire and the World renowned flautist, William Bennett MBE. They performed Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp K299, accompanied by the ECO. The concert, conducted by Paul Watkins, also included Mozart’s Don Giovanni Overture, and Hummel’s Piano Concerto in A Minor.
Claire was truly thrilled that her first performance of this magnificent work was alongside William Bennett, who has been a real support to Claire since the collaboration. She looks forward to performing duos with him at a very special concert at Hampton Court Palace in October entitled, An Evening with Claire Jones. It was also a great privilege to appear in concert with the ECO again after her acclaimed debut at Cadogan Hall in which they premiered Classic FM’s Composer in Residence, Patrick Hawes’ Lazarus Requiem.
