HRH The Prince of Wales’ 60th Birthday
On November the 14th 2008 Claire played a starring role in The Prince of Wales’ celebration for his 60th Birthday. A special concert was organised on behalf of the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Claire delivered a particularly memorable premiere performance of Goddess of the Woods by Patrick Hawes, a 1st movement concerto for harp and the Philharmonia Orchestra. She also organised a mass choir of 60 harps for the event. Having organised all logistics and repertoire for the ensemble along with support from the management of the Philharmonia and Salvi harps, to whom she is extremely grateful to. The event was a huge success and His Royal Highness was absolutely delighted at the sight.
It was indeed a day to celebrate the role of Official Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales and a vital part that the harp plays in of our culture and heritage in Wales.
