Royal Engagements

160809

Claire was recently invited by Maestro Gergiev to perform as guest artist with the Mariinsky Theatre Ballet Orchestra in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses at Windsor Castle. She was truly honoured to take part in this particular fundraising event, especially given the already long- established relationship between the Mariinsky and their Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales. It was also a very memorable experience for Claire as it involved the performance of a special piece for the Prima Ballerina, solo cello and solo harp, dedicated to the memory of The Queen Mother.

Claire appeared as a soloist at the annual Bach Choir Carol Service held at St. James’ Palace in the presence of TRH The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Duke of Kent, HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy, Viscount Linley, The Lady Sarah Chatto and Mr Daniel Chatto. She was privileged to accompany members of the Bach Choir and to work with one of the UK’s leading conductors, their Musical Director – Mr David Hill.

Another unforgettable experience for Claire was meeting a number of children and their families from Ty Hafan Hospice, upon their annual Christmas visit to Highgrove House. During the day, the children had the opportunity to see, hear and play the harp for the first time- a truly unique and treasured experience for all involved. “I’m very much looking forward to visiting the children and carers of Ty Hafan Hospice in the very near future, many of the children liked the sound of the harp - my hope is that I can offer them a new experience which will make a real difference to their lives..”

Other performances for His Royal Highness and distinguished guests include Dumfries House, Scotland, Windsor Castle, Cardiff Castle, and Clarence House.
